So Where Have The Copland Been?

Q. So Where Have The Coplands Been?

A. Holidays!!!!!!!

That's right the Copland Family turned off their mobile phones, ditched the internet and went on holidays. Where you might ask? We headed south to a small beach town called Middleton where together with the Norman and Woodyatt families we rented a holiday house - "Middleton Bliss".

Everyday we ventured out to see the sights of Middleton and the surrounding townships. We spent time in old churches, secondhand bookstores and op shops as well as just relaxing at the "holly house" (as Nate called it) with games of bocce, cooking on the BBQ and of course lying in the hammock.

I took so many photos on our holiday (over 550 when I went to download them!) that I thought I would just bunch a few together over the next couple of weeks to show you the places we went.

FIRST STOP:
Encounter Bay, Middleton SA

On our way to the beach just a 2 minute walk.

Mat with Amelie, and Andrew with Nathaniel.

Swim time over

What a glorious day!

Some views from our hotel room.

Its our anniversary in a few days and so while we had the opportunity Theresa and I headed down to Glenelg on Sunday night and stayed in the fanciest hotel we've ever stayed in.

The view from our room, looking back over the city and up into the Adelaide hills - (about 3pm)

The lights starting to come on across the city and the Square starting to get some nightlife as people swap swimmers and the beach for clothes and dinner - (about 8pm)

The city at its best (shame about the dodgy phone camera!). By now the Square below us was pumping. We'd been down and had some dinner, and also some ice cream and a walk along the beach - (11pm).

Earlier in the day... the view from the other side of the hotel. The beach was packed, and the water looked very inviting, but it was too much effort to leave the air conditioning of our room.

When we did make it down to the beach in the late afternoon the sun was getting low and was shinning off the water beautifully.

You know its a fancy hotel when they have those clocks with different times from all over the world in the lobby. And yes, I did get some odd looks as I took this picture.

Sometimes the little things can make a big difference...

Its been a while since I did a 'real' post, and so I thought it was time to get back into it a little bit.

Over the past few days I've been thinking about how the little things can have a big impact. For example, at the moment my mum is visiting with us. Just one more adult helping out with the 2 boys makes such a huge difference. Theresa and I have more time to do stuff (together and on our own) and also more time to give to each of the boys.

Zac has started on solids recently. I didn't think that a quarter of a banana in the morning could make much of a difference, but since I'm the one who changed his nappy in the afternoon, let me tell you, it makes a difference! Phew!

When I buy a drink I often have an inner dialogue going back and forth about how big a drink I need to get. Medium is never enough, but large is sometimes a bit too much. There can't be THAT much difference between a medium and a large... between a can and a bottle of coke... between a medium mango frappe from Gloria Jeans and a large...

But its not all just silly stuff either.

Like this song reminds us, sometimes the little things can really make a big difference...

Snap Happy Mummy!

So the other night the boys were playing around on the floor. Nate had Zac in a barrel of laughs and there were plenty of hugs and kisses going around. Zac especially liked it when Nate would lay down next to him and sing "Happy to you" (code for Happy Birthday song) or "Baby Croc croc" (Code for I have no idea, it's a song they sing at childcare and I keep forgetting to ask) as this would make Isaac laugh so hard he would snort. Good Times!
